The CFDA Awards is one of the biggest night’s on the fashion calendar and the 2014 edition did not disappoint.

It has become some what of a tradition at the CDFA awards for the designers to arrive with one of their favourite fashion muses on their arm, dressed in  one of their bespoke designs.

 Michael Kors accompanied Blake Lively, Zac Posen arrived with Great Gerwig and Francisco Costa with Solange Knowles.

Meanwhile, all eyes were set firmly on Rihanna as she arrived on the red carpet wearing a custom-made gown by Adam Selman. It featured 216,000 Swarovski crystals and was completely sheer.

As she collected to collect the inaugural Fashion Icon Award Rihanna reminisced about how fashioned had impacted her life from a young age.

-“Ever since I can remember fashion has always been my defence mechanism. Even as a child I remember thinking, she can beat me, but she can’t beat my outfit.”-

 

But It wasn’t only Rihanna who stole the show on the red carpet.
