Black & Gold

There’s something about gold, it fascinates me. I’m not sure why. I think it stems from childhood, the stories of glamorous kings and queens, pots of gold at the end of a rainbow. I’m not sure but something about it still makes it magical to me even now I’m in my 20’s. I’m not a huge wearer of jewellery, the pieces I have are all carefully picked and treasured (other than the odd bit of costume jewellery here and there.) I had done quite well with my silver collection having ticked off the main items I’d wanted and finally this Christmas my black and gold phase came to fruition. I had been eyeing the black and gold Larsson&Jennings watch for quite a while having seen it numerous times in Vogue and Glamour magazine (my monthly subscriptions) so I decided to bite the bullet and buy it! It’s a stunning watch, simplicity at its best and a real classic. Nothing too fussy, no big dials, just a beautiful time piece. I had never really worn a watch before, I had a little mermaid one when I was ten, it smashed, I was devastated and I think that left me scarred! But now I’ve finally moved on and purchased the LJ I feel completely naked without it! They have got an amazing collection and have just opened their flagship store in Covent Garden, London. It’s a lovely little shop and you can even have a freshly brewed coffee whilst perusing the watches.

So I had the watch, next up was a bracelet. I had looked in a few shops and mentioned a few brands to my mum who was asking about potential Christmas presents. I think I mentioned how much I loved Monica Vinader jewellery once in a fleeting conversation. I swear she never misses a trick because on Christmas Day as I opened my presents, there it was!!!!!! The Monica Vinader Fiji bracelet, gold with black thread wrapped in Monica Vinaders gorgeous packaging. It was a complete surprise, I was really happy and it goes perfect with my watch. Each of the Fiji bracelets come with a different colour thread, all having different meanings : Black = Energy. Also as a part of the Monica Vinader service you can engrave your jewellery in store. So as soon as I arrived back in London I popped into their Bond Street store and it was done there and then!
So there we are, my current black and gold moment is down to these two gorgeous pieces. Now I'm on the hunt for the perfect necklace! Suggestions welcome!

Over and out,
Little Miss Winney x
