Countdown to Christmas

Its five days until Christmas. I repeat it is five days until Christmas!

Now if there is one thing I love as much as Christmas, it’s the build up to Christmas! The dinners, the drinks, the party frocks and that last minute rush to see all of your nearest and dearest before the big day itself. This year proved no different and the week before I leave the big smoke and head back home to the coast, I find my diary choc-a-bloc with cocktail appointments (It’s a tough job but someone’s got to do it.) On Tuesday it was catchup time with my beautiful friend Izzy T. Having not seen each other in a few weeks (which is rare) we had so much to chat about we headed straight to a cocktail bar…obviously.

Having met Iz at her office in Leicester Square, we decided to head into Soho and the beautiful Kingly Court. If you haven’t ventured to Kingly Court before I urge you to go, especially at Christmas time. It’s a hidden square in the centre of Soho packed with bars, restaurants and shops. Protected from the rain by a big circus like tent over head, you are left to enjoy the beautiful array of fairy lights twinkling around you.

We decided to take a seat and order cocktails at ‘The Wright Brothers‘ a restaurant mainly known for its seafood but I’d heard on the down low that they did cracking cocktails. Oh how I heard right!

Having browsed the menu, spotting at least five or six we’d like to try we went ahead and ordered…

Round 1

Izzy went for – ‘MANDA’S ELIXIR’
Portobello Road gin, peach, passion fruit, apple juice, lemon juice & basil.

I chose – ‘BLOOD ORANGE BLOSSOM’
Belenkaya vodka, blood orange, sugar & lemon juice.

Both drinks went down very well, so well we decided to order another…well it is Christmas. Out came the menus and it was decision time again.

Round 2

Izzy went for – ‘JASMINE PEARL’
Tanqueray gin, jasmine syrup, elderflower cordial, lime juice & Fentimans Victorian Lemonade.

I chose – ‘PETROSILIUM’
Portobello Road gin, Luxardo Maraschino, cucumber juice, parsley, lime juice & sugar.

As we finished off the final sips of our cocktails we had already spotted several restaurants we were eager to come back and try. But for now it was time to to depart.

Kingly Court really is a great place to get festive and catch up with friends!

All that was left to do was a quick twirl in my layered up outfit.

Hat – River Island, Dress – & Other Stories, Jumper – H&M, Jacket – Topshop, Bag c/o – Paul’s Boutique, Glasses c/o – London retro via Glasses Direct, Tights – M&S, Shoes – Urban Outfitters

Over and out,
