This weekend just gone, I went back up
North to my home town of Grimsby.
As a town we were honoured to be selected to
host the annual National Armed Forces Day 2016. The ‘day’ – actually a weekend
full of activitives and presentations running from Friday until Sunday along Cleethorpes beach and seaside.
What a weekend it was!
Thankfully the rain held off and we had
three days of beautiful sunshine. From air displays to military demonstrations,
the whole weekend was simply wonderful!
Highlighlights included the famous
Lincolnshire Red Arrows and the military parade in which thunderous applause erupted as the
hundreds of both currently serving and veterans marched in formation along the promenade. The
thousands of local supporters whose spirit and patriotism made the event one to remember.
