THE WEEKLY ROUNDUP #4

Happy Easter my little bunnies!

I hope you’re all relaxing somewhere with chocolate within reaching distance. Four day weekend woo hoooooo! A big shout out however to all you absolute super stars that are working over the Easter weekend, I salute you. I was working on Friday and back again Monday however, yesterday and today have been spent at home. Yes, I’m back in Grimsby and I am loving it! Right now I’m writing this whilst on the sofa, a huge Cadbury egg is next to me to my right and Sister Act two is on the TV (one of my all time faves) so I’m pretty much loving life RN. Anyway welcome back, If you’re a regular reader, you know the drill, if not – Hi guys! This is The Weekly Roundup, a weekly post which lets me share the everyday goings on in my life, no filter, no fancy photo shoots, just me. A little behind the scenes action into my day to day I guess, if you fancy catching up with the previous posts just click this link here. So without further a do, lets get straight to it! So think week in all honesty has been delightful! Like, it’s been one of those weeks that didn’t go too fast or too slow, it was just right. Other than finishing it off at home with the fam-a-lam, the rest of the week has been packed with so many highlights. Unlike last week, which was mainly spent at home at my desk doing admin, this week I was out and about getting up to all sorts of things.

Monday kicked started my week with a photo shoot. I met with my photographer and friend Zoe who I just adore, we headed over to Peggy Porschen in Victoria for coffee and Cake to catch-up before going off in search of locations. The pictures ended up being some of my favourite shots to date and I can’t wait to share them with you, in the mean time though I’ve popped some behind the scenes shots for you below. One of them shows mine and Zoe’s BFF… the changing tent! It makes me laugh so much but yeah, we basically find a quiet spot in a side street, ‘pop’ it up, get in and get changed. Oh the glamour! We laughed until we cried on this shoot, so many funny moments. That’s why I love working with Zoe, our personalities match so well and we have the best time together which makes the work so much easier.

Alongside working from home, mid-week saw me discovering a bit more of my local (North London) neighbourhood. Going to the circus – which was SO much fun! I’ve been to a few circuses in my time and sometimes they can be a bit naff but this one was great! The aerialists were amazing and the general vibe was just really fun. I also walked round the old dis-used railway in Finsbury park and headed to some of my local pubs and bars. Crazy that I’ve lived in my current flat for almost three years and still have so many places yet to be discovered. I’m still not drinking so going to  bars with friends has been interesting, I have a new found love for soft drinks. I love an Appletiser and it turns out orange and lemonade is my new fave cocktail!

Other than that though, this week has been leading up to my return home to Grimsby and our little village of Humberston. I love coming home, it’s my favourite thing to do. Sadly I don’t come back often, mainly because the train fare is ridiculous but when I do come back I make the most out of it. I arrived late Friday night and pretty much went straight to bed after chatting with mum for a little bit. Saturday we headed to my best friend Annabelle’s house to see her and her beautiful family. Holly and Ben came along too so we had a great catchup spending hours playing with Elliott’s play-dough. I’m not sure who enjoyed playing with it more, us or him. We also gave Elliott and Primrose their Easter baskets (which they loved) and had lots of lovely cuddles, yay!

Obviously no trip home to Grimsby is complete without fish & chips and although traditionally you eat fish on Good Friday, I wasn’t home so we went yesterday instead. It (as always) was epic! Regular haddock, chips and mushy peas…heaven. Mum and I then took a trip to our local dance festival to see my old dance school compete, I danced in the festivals from the age of 6 until 18 so I get all sentimental whenever I watch all the young children perform, sometimes in the same routines I once did. Mum went home after the festival and I went on to meet Holly, Ben, Kirsty and Tony for drinks at Copper Bar on the sea-front. I love love love meeting with them whenever I’m home and as always we were laughing for hours!!

Today, the end of the week and Easter Sunday has been perfect. Just mum and me, with a little visit from my Auntie and Alec in the morning. We did our egg hunt. Yes, at the age of 28 I still have to hunt for my eggs, the Easter Bunny is still very much a reality in the Winney household. Mum did a big treasure hunt throughout the house and admittedly, I loved it! I found them all (yay) and after a big roast dinner I tucked into my chocolate collection. Update: Sister Act two has now finished and we’ve popped on ‘Burlesque’ which is another of my faves so once again – very happy bunny right here. So there we go, a little whizz through what I’ve gotten up to this week. I hope you’ve had a good one and I hope Easter has been a relaxing break. If you’re off tomorrow, enjoy it and remember – never put all your eggs in one basket…unless the eggs are chocolate and the basket is your mouth. Peace out guys, let me know what you’ve been up to this week and if you have any Easter traditions yourself in the comments below. Catch up again soon!
