So as you may or may not remember, a few weeks ago I was invited along to bareMinerals’ ‘California Road Trip’ event to celebrate their 20th anniversary and launch of their latest foundation. (see post here)
I was lucky enough to be given the new ‘Blemish Remedy’ foundation to take home and try before it lands in stores in September as well as one of their current best sellers – ‘Complexion Rescue.’ So as promised here’s my bareMinerals makeup review!
Blemish Remedy-
(Shade – Clearly Porcelain 01)
The new kid on the bareMinerals block, ‘Blemish Remedy’ was created to soothe, calm and control problem or oily skin. Now I have to admit, I am extremely lucky and don’t really get too many blemishes and my skin is more normal/combination as oppose to oily but non-the-less I’ve still had great results!
The foundation is a gentle, using aspen bark and tea tree oil that works to conceal imperfections and promote the appearance of clear skin, along with aloe-vera to soothe and hydrate. Using the new seamless buffing brush I just popped it onto the mesh, tapped off the excess and then buffed it into my skin in circular motions.
I found it to be great on pores – very minimising and mattifying – without drying.
Complexion Rescue-
(shade – Opal 01)
It was only a couple of years ago that the hype around CC/BB/DD creams went off the scale! But after trying sooooo many I was always left a bit disappointed.
I’m not a huge day to day makeup wearer and so I tend not to wear too much foundation, but I’d still like some coverage to perk up my complexion. This is why I think I’ve truly found my makeup soul-mate!
The bareMinerals ‘Complexion Rescue’ is a tinted hydrating gel cream, with SPF 30 (which is great for us pale peeps.) It’s basically just a very, very good tinted moisturiser.
It’s super hydrating and gives just enough coverage to give your skin a quick pick-me-up giving a healthy, dewy finish.
Over and out,
