Back in February I moved into my beautiful North London flat. It had potential – a lot of it but sadly it had been left untended to for years and so was looking a bit worse for wear. In stepped myself and Fantastic Services. I had seen and read a lot about them on social media and knew them mainly as a removals comapany however once I got to look at their website I realised they offered a whole range of services. One of which was painting and decorating. I reached out and discussed what I had in mind, fairly simple – a lick of paint and the removal of the old (yellowing) wallpaper. We set out on our collboration (press service) and now…it’s time to see the before and afters!

We decided to use Crown paints and went for a bright white (shade – ‘Pure Brilliant White‘) and a warm navy (shade – ‘Midnight Navy‘) for the feature wall. Both colours compliment each other perfectly and add some much needed freshness! Overall the process took 4 days for one painter/decorater to complete. The first day was spent steaming the old wallpaper off and filling in any holes in the plaster. Then the following days were spent painting.

With the painting done it was time to decorate (my favourite part) I wanted lots of little bursts of colour to keep the room looking bright. The prints, which you can see more of over on my Instagram were ordered via Posterlounge. Posterlounge ship within Europe and offer different types of materials like Posters, Canvas prints, Acrylic prints, Wood prints, and more. I got our large blue circular print for the feature wall and it ties in the colours so well! The frames are also really high quality and easy to hang which is great! Soft furnishings came from a variety of place (again head to my ‘Home’ highlight on my Instagram to see my homeware haul including disciunt codes!) The main suppliers being Debenhams, Ikea, Fy! and Anthropologie.
I’m really happy with how it’s all coming together and I hope this is the start of many interior projects going forward. Any questions about any of the services I’ve used or materials etc. feel free to leave a comment or as always come find me on Instagram and send me a message. Have a lovely week guys, 2020 – we WILL get through this!!
